Dennis Stewart, Assistant Head Coach Boys Lacrosse at Lake Braddock High
School and Director of Operations for TripleEDGE Lacrosse, suffered a
massive stroke.
The FINISH HARD FOUNDATION was created to help with Coach’s needs,
Stroke awareness and continued growth of this Awesome Game.
Dennis has spent his life coaching lacrosse. First at the high
school level at Lake Braddock High School and Bishop Ireton High School,
then collegiate lacrosse at Denison University and Ohio State
University.
Along with coaching National Travel teams, High
School Club teams, and TripleEdge Lacrosse Fall, Winter and Summer
leagues, "Coach Stew" has been a tremendous asset to the game of
lacrosse. His influence has been felt both as a coach and as an
ambassador for the growth of the sport around the country.
Stringin' for Coach Nick Birnie offers his stick restringing services
to help support Coach
Nick Birnie presents Pete Stewart, co-founder of the Finish
Hard Foundation, with a check
Nick Birnie, sophomore on Chantilly (VA) High
Schools Lacrosse team and Founder of his stick restringing company “Nicks
Stix”, recently raised over $1,000 for the “Finish Hard Foundation”...
...Nick, who also is a member of the Virginia Lacrosse Club (VLC),
introduced a “Stringin’ for Coach” initiative in
August, offering complimentary stick restringing to anyone who made a
minimal donation to the Finish Hard Foundation. The Northern Virginia lacrosse
community immediately supported this effort. Additionally, a local
lacrosse organization met a challenge from Nick to match the funds he raised.
When Nick was asked why he wanted to do this, “This was a way for me to show my
appreciation to Coach for the endless hours he has given to teaching myself and
countless other players to honor the game we all love and to challenge ourselves
to overcome adversity thru hard work”...
